Sunday Best are excited to announce their first releases with Mary Epworth since signing the British artist earlier this year.
First single from the album, ‘Me Swimming’, is a hypnotic song replete with electronic ticks and whirrs - a high-pop moment on an album that leans more to the dark and experimental. Produced by Thom Monahan and recorded at his Golden Void studio in LA, Elytral sees Mary arriving with greater ferocity and a letting loose of her darker instincts through grinding, splintered soundscapes, electronic experimentalism, prog, psychedelia, free-jazz and more. Elytral is available to pre-order now digitally, on CD & limited edition neon orange vinyl. (Digital) www.smarturl.it/Elytral / (LTD Vinyl) http://bit.ly/2qrCkd3

Of the single ‘Me Swimming’, Mary says, ‘This is and isn’t about me swimming. It's really more about the mind over matter trick where you visualise yourself in a different place and time. In my case I'm zooming back to being 5 years old in a Ramada Inn swimming pool in Roanoke Virginia, fluorescent orange armbands in a sunlit turquoise blue pool, totally free and joyfully unselfconscious.’
Me Swimming’ is available now on iTunes and Spotify: www.smarturl.it/MeSwimming
Mary and her band will be performing an intimate show at The Social in London on Tuesday 13th June, as part of the Huw Stephens Presents evening (here). This is followed by Open House at British Summer Time Hyde Park, London on Friday 7th July (here), and the main stage at Camp Bestival, Dorset, on Friday 28th July (here).

Mary Epworth’s debut album, Dream Life, saw much praise from press and radio, and lead to four singles playlisted at BBC 6 Music, ‘Black Doe’ picked as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record In The World, and Mary and her band performing sold-out headline shows and playing many festivals. Mary’s career has also taken an unexpected detour with the hit US podcast Welcome to Night Vale and its spin-off Within the Wires, composing the score for the latter and joining the Night Vale team on their hugely successful sold-out tours across the US and Europe.
