Vessels will release a special edition of their acclaimed 2015 album Dilate on April 1st, their first release on [PIAS] electronic imprint Different Recordings. It features brand new single ‘4AM’, which finds the Leeds five-piece in impressive form with another moment of beautifully crafted widescreen electronica, a soundtrack to the early mornings after big nights. An open-hearted chord progression evokes the stillness and serenity of early morning while the blood still rushes through your veins from the night before. Add a glittering array of remixes and this new expanded edition of Dilate is the perfect encapsulation of an incredible 12 months for the band.

Dilate was originally released in March 2015 on the band’s own Bias imprint. Working with celebrated producer Richard Formby (Ghostpoet, Wild Beasts, Darkstar), it marked the culmination of their transition from soaring guitars to fluid electronics. Fusing the epic builds and elegant breakdowns of their previous work, with physical and propulsive electronic rhythms, the results are intoxicating. Glowing reviews arrived from all directions, from Mixmag and DJ to The Guardian and Mojo. The electronic music world sat up and took notice. Vessels’ tracks have been reworked by the likes of Ripperton and Berghain/Panorama Bar residents Barker & Baumecker; they’ve completed remixes for Nils Frahm, Public Service Broadcasting, Rival Consoles, Maxïmo Park and more; in demand as Vessels DJs they were invited to perform at a recent Jon Hopkins afterparty and dropped mixes for Solid Steel and Rinse FM.

Vessels have really come into their own in the live arena. Establishing themselves amongst the finest live performers in electronic music, Vessels skillfully maintain the crystalline melodies and crushing dynamics of their previous life as a rock band. With two drummers front and centre, it's a visceral and dynamic experience, and the jewel in their crown.

The Dilate special edition is available on 180g gatefold double vinyl (with download code), CD and digital formats. All versions include the original album plus ‘4AM’ and a reworking by Ninja Tune’s FaltyDL. The digital editions include bonus track ‘Beautiful You Me’ and remixes by Houndstooth artist Throwing Snow, Berlin-based DJ / label head Len Faki and British trio LV.
